The main problem with which we shall be concerned is that of the authorship of the versions of de Caelo from the Greek which made their appearance during the thirteenth century. But it will be beSt to begin with a recapitulation o f the fads ascertained by previous writers concerning the Arabic-latin versions in which this treatise to t became known in the lands o f Western Europe.
